Abstract

Synthetic calcium sulphate dihydrate has been prepared by sulfuric acid decomposition of dolomite powder. Parameters of process (order of mixing H₂SO₄ and MgSO₄ water suspension, MgSO₄ concentration, time of recrystallization, quantity of seed crystals, etc) affecting properties of high-strength gypseous binder have been determined. It has been shown that the product contains mainly α-CaSO₄ • 0,5H₂O and its properties meet the requirements of functional standard.
